Jim Hill Track Headed to South State
April 22, 2021
On April 6, 2021 the Jim Hill High School Girls’ and Boys’ track and field teams both won Division 6-5A Championships. This was the first time that the Boy's team has won a track meet in 10 years and the first time that the girls have won a district track meet. Top competitors included Kimona Haynes (200, long jump, and 400), Jakhia Martin (100, 200, 400), and Amauri Quick (100m hurdles, high jump, and 400) Kevonta Jefferson (100, 200, 400, and long jump) Darius Littleton (200, 4x100, 4x200, and 4x400), Jessie Williams (100, 200, long jump, and 4x200).
This win advanced the Tigers to the Region 3-5A competion held on April 13, 2021. There the Jim Hill Lady Tigers' track and field team finished third in Region 3-5A competition with a total of 9 athletes moving on to South State. The Jim Hill Tigers' track and field team finished fourth with a total of 7 athletes moving on to South State. Top competitors include Kevonta Jefferson (100, 200, 400, and 4x200), Kimona Haynes (400 and long jump), Amauri Quick (High Jump and 100 Hurdles), Jessie Williams (200, long jump, and 4 x 200), and Darius Littleton (200, 4x100, 4x200, and 4x400).
South State is scheduled to take place at Hattiesburg High School in Hattiesburg, MS on April 22, 2021.
