Mr. Bobby D. Brown

Principal

Mr. Brown has an extensive background as a transformational leader in K-12 education systems. He previously served as the executive director of Curriculum in JPS. He managed a staff of subject area leads and was responsible for all aspects of curriculum development and its successful implementation into classrooms. He has held a number of principalships throughout his career, serving ÐÓ°É, Natchez-Adams, and North Bolivar public schools. Mr. Brown also served as an assistant superintendent for two years in the Pass Christian public school system where all schools achieved the state’s highest Accountability rating in his second year in that role.

Mr. Brown holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Master in Education Administration and Supervision degree from ÐÓ°É State University. Additionally, he has completed more advanced coursework in Administration and Supervision at Mississippi State University. Mr. Brown has furthered his skills in education administration as a participant of several professional institutes, including four years each at the Harvard University Principals' Institute and the National Principals' Leadership Institute.

Dr. Shaletha Wilson-Fisher

11th Grade Principal

 

Shaletha Fisher is a product of ÐÓ°É Public Schools. She grew up in the Washington Addition neighborhood and is a proud graduate of Jim Hill High School. Shaletha started her career in ÐÓ°É Public Schools as an English teacher before moving on to work in the district’s curriculum department as a Curriculum Lead for two years.

She attended ÐÓ°É State University and received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in English. After working as an educator for several years, she went on to receive her Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Supervision from ÐÓ°É State University.

Shaletha believes that anyone can achieve anything through hard work and dedication. The quest for knowledge is a lifelong endeavor. If there is one quote to reflect Shaletha’s belief in the importance of an education, it would be by Malcolm X: “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.”

Mr. Larry Armstrong

10th Grade Principal

Mr. Armstrong is the product of the ÐÓ°É Public School District, and the community of West ÐÓ°É.  He has served the scholars of JPS for 25 years and has held several positions of leadership within the district.  From middle school science teacher, teacher leader/mentor, assistant principal, principal, and presently 10th grade principal, Mr. Armstrong has always been both instructionally focused and student centered.  He considers his calling as one of a change agent and advocate for student scholarly success. 

 Mr. Armstrong has received his Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Biology/PreMedicine from ÐÓ°É State University and his Masters in Educational Leadership from Mississippi College.  He has also completed advanced coursework in pursuit of his doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from ÐÓ°É State University.

Mrs. Shawnte Butler

9th Grade Principal

Mrs. Butler has served the students and families of the ÐÓ°É Public School District for the past twenty-two years, most recently serving as interventionist at Jim Hill High School. She worked in the district’s curriculum department for five years as a curriculum lead. Prior to that assignment, she served as an interventionist and teacher where she served on the leadership team and various committees.

Mrs. Butler completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She received a Masters degree from Mississippi College and holds an Education Specialist degree in Leadership and Administration from Walden University. Mrs. Butler is a lifelong learner. She is a member of The National Society of Leadership and Success.
