Jim Hill High School Cheerleaders Win in National Competition

During Spring Break, the Jim Hill High School competition squad competed in the Powerhouse Spirit National Stomp and Shake Cheerleading Championships at Virginia State University. This competition is an annual event that brings together high schools from around the country to showcase their skills across several categories. The Jim Hill competition squad competed in the following five categories on Saturday, March 20:

  • Solo
  • Stunt Group
  • Timeout Dance
  • Full Routine
  • Blackout Routine (First Place)

The cheer team earned one of the highest score totals of any Blackout Routine since the category’s history. A third-place finish was also earned in the stunt group category.

The Jim Hill High School cheerleaders are led by head coach, Tamika Harris, and the assistant coach is former Jim Hill High School cheerleader Amadi Lawrence.

The Jim Hill High School Nationals team:

Seniors: OrMyiae Bogan, Sha’Niyah Moore, Roniah Russell, Zakeya Thompson

Juniors: Jada Cavett, Ashiya Howard, Alexis Reed, Hailey Samuel, Mckinley Washington

Sophomores: Jy’Keciona Bibbs, Kaitlyn Jacobs, Jamiya Norals, Terri Powell, Ethan Wells

Freshmen: Jayla Dunn, Ro’Melody Elbert, Jamia Knox
