JPS High School Division Accelerated Reader Program

Each term 9th and 10th grade students are required to participate in Accelerated Reader (AR). Each student is responsible for reading a certain number of books based on the his/her ZPD (Zone of Proximal Development).  Each Accelerated Reader book is assigned a point value, reading level, interest level, and quiz number. Students will accumulate a determined amount of points each term.  Upon completion of reading a title, students are expected to take an AR assessment that coincides with the reading to obtain a score.  Points earned are based on the score they make on the test.
