Win or go home. This is the time in every season where only the strong survive. The Region 4 Class 5A District Basketball Tournament started Monday, February 7, 2022 with the Lady Tigers of Jim Hill taking on the Lady Rams of Provine. During the regular season, these ladies split the wins, with Provine winning their first meeting and Jim Hill winning the second 67-55 with Amauri Quick-Collins scoring 33 points.
On Monday, it was winner take all between the Lady Tigers and the Lady Rams. With a slow start to the game in the first quarter (7-5), the Lady Tigers quickly picked up the pace going into halftime with a 27- 8 lead over the Lady Rams. After halftime, the Lady Tigers continued their dominance over the Lady Rams as Amauri Quick-Collins led them to a 50-34 victory, ending the season for the Lady Rams. Quick-Collins ended the night with 18 points and was assisted by Masharia Mack and E’brellya Taylor, who both had 8 points. The Lady Tigers advance on to play Forest Hill on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 6pm.
