Callaway Senior Receives Full Ride Scholarship to Alcorn State University

On December 6, a senior in Callaway High School's JROTC program, received a pleasant surprise—a full-ride scholarship to Alcorn State University valued at $61,600.

Quintoria Holly, a dedicated JROTC cadet, earned this four-year scholarship through her application for the national JROTC scholarship. Expressing her gratitude for the JROTC experience, she acknowledged the valuable skills she has acquired, such as leadership and discipline, which she believes will greatly benefit her in college.

Excited about the upcoming journey at Alcorn State, Holly reflected on the positive impact JROTC has had on her, stating, "Well, JROTC has given me a lot of improvement skills, like leadership, discipline, all of these skills that I use daily. So, I feel like ROTC in college will give me way more of what I need."

Upon arriving at Alcorn State, Holly plans to join the ROTC program and hopes to pave the way for a career in physical therapy during her time in college.

The prestigious scholarship was presented to Holly by U.S. Brig. Gen. Amanda I. Azubuike, who oversees the army cadet command nationwide. Gen. Azubuike's visit was warmly welcomed by JPS JROTC Director Col. Fredrick Brown and staff, who guided her on a tour around the �Ӱ� Public School District.
