    Blackboard Notifications

    If you have opted out of Blackboard and would like to opt back in. Please follow the steps below for your preferred notification type.

    Phone Calls

    From the phone line where you prefer to receive automated messages, dial 1-855-502-7867 and when prompted press 2 to opt back in. If someone opts out by phone following the prompt during the phone call, they are only opted out of Outreach calls. They will still receive emergency and attendance calls.

    SMS Text Messages

    Text “START 1218133” to 23177. This will automatically start text message notifications from ÐÓ°É Public Schools. This does not opt you in for School Status. School Status is maintained by your school.

    Email

    Send an email to ContactJPS@jackson.k12.ms.us with the subject “Request to Receive Email Messages.” In your message, include the email address to add, especially if it is different from the one you are sending from.

    Key Communicator

    Our stakeholder newsletter, the JPS Key Communicator, is sent to subscriber emails no more than once a month in ordinary circumstances. You may at any time. Each issue is archived on our website on the Key Communicator page under the News menu.

    School Status

    We use the Blackboard Connect parent notification system to send attendance, emergency, and outreach alerts. It is different from School Status which is the platform used for two-way communications between schools and families. Please contact your child's school if you believe you are not receiving messages via School Status.
